Our collection of four nature-based tourism destinations across New Mexico combine luxury accommodations with conservation-driven adventures. Guests have the opportunity to explore breathtaking landscapes, encounter diverse wildlife, and experience sustainable travel.
CAN I HOST PRIVATE EVENTS OR RETREATS AT TED TURNER RESERVES?
Yes, Ted Turner Reserves offers options for private events, retreats, and group gatherings. Our team can customize experiences to accommodate corporate retreats, weddings, and other special occasions. Visit our gatherings page to learn more.
HOW DO I BOOK A STAY AT TED TURNER RESERVES?
Contact our Reserve Ambassadors to plan your visit to any Ted Turner Reserves property. Stays for Vermejo and Sierra Grande may also be booked online.
ARE MEALS INCLUDED DURING A STAY?
Meals are included with stays at Vermejo, Ladder, and Armendaris, and guests have the option to upgrade to a variety of culinary adventures. Sierra Grande includes breakfast only.
HOW DOES TED TURNER RESERVES SUPPORT CONSERVATION EFFORTS?
Ted Turner Reserves operates under the parent nonprofit Turner Research institute, with the purpose to combine and balance, the work and wildness of landscapes to create the foremost model for conserving working wildlands with attention, devoted to restoring imperiled species, and native biodiversity. All the money generated from a stay with Ted Turner Reserves goes toward these efforts.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING FOR MY STAY AT TED TURNER RESERVES?
Guests are encouraged to pack outdoor essentials such as comfortable hiking shoes, sunscreen, hats, and layered clothing. Each property provides specific recommendations based on seasonal weather and planned activities.
ARE TED TURNER RESERVES PROPERTIES FAMILY-FRIENDLY?
Yes, Ted Turner Reserves welcomes families. Many of the activities, such as nature hikes, wildlife tours, and cultural experiences, are suitable for guests of all ages. Ask our Reserve Ambassadors about Turner Trailblazers activities created especially for families.
IS TED TURNER RESERVES PET-FRIENDLY?
For the safety of pets and wildlife, pets are not permitted at Vermejo, Ladder, or Armendaris. Sierra Grande offers a select number of pet-friendly rooms and can accommodate one pet per room under 25 pounds. Please inquire when booking to ensure we have an available room.
WHICH TED TURNER RESERVES PROPERTIES ARE ALL-INCLUSIVE?
Stays at these reserves include all half-day activities, meals, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks.
WHAT TYPES OF ACTIVITIES ARE AVAILABLE AT TED TURNER RESERVES?
Activities range from guided wildlife tours and hiking to stargazing, historic site explorations, mountain biking, and even paleontology excursions. Each reserve offers a variety of outdoor and cultural experiences tailored to its unique setting.
WHAT MAKES TED TURNER RESERVES UNIQUE?
Ted Turner Reserves stands out for its focus on conservation and sustainability. Each property is designed to showcase the natural beauty, cultural history, and ecological significance of the region, offering a one-of-a-kind experience that connects guests with nature.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Cancellation notification must occur at least 61 days before your arrival date to receive a refunded payment. However, a 10% fee of your total reservation amount is non-refundable.
Reservation reductions, such as changes in party size or duration, made within 60 days of arrival will not receive rate adjustments.
CAN I BRING PETS TO VERMEJO?
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at Vermejo due to the disturbance they may cause to wildlife and the potential danger from predators.
ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES OR REQUIREMENTS?
Rates are subject to nightly taxes and minimum length of stay requirements.
WHAT IS YOUR DEPOSIT POLICY?
A deposit of 50% of the total reservation, including state and local taxes, is due at the time of booking. A reservation is not confirmed unless it has a deposit on file. All remaining costs, including taxes, become due and non-refundable 60 days before the arrival date.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE CASA GRANDE BUYOUT RATE?
Exclusive access to rooms and common areas in Casa Grande.
Private in-house dining service upon request.
All activities and elevated excursions.
ARE FISHING LICENSES REQUIRED AT THE COSTILLA FISHING LODGE?
Yes, all guests at the Costilla Fishing Lodge require a state fishing license, which is issued upon arrival. The fee for this license is included in the rate.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE RATES FOR VERMEJO LODGING?
Rates include:
Meals: Beginning with dinner on arrival through breakfast on departure.
All non-alcoholic beverages.
Activities and guided experiences.
Rates exclude:
Alcoholic beverages.
Transfers, elevated excursions, spa services, photo sessions, cooking classes, and curated dining experiences.
Additional guides can be added to an experience for $500 per guide.
A charge of ~$700 per person, per night if minimum occupancy is exceeded.
IS THERE A SERVICE FEE?
Yes, a 15% service fee is added to the nightly rate and all services throughout your stay. This fee covers all gratuities for service team members. Ancillary charges such as additional guide fees, alcohol purchases, culinary experiences, and spa services are not subject to this service fee.
